Environmental Protection Department (EPD) takes various actions including holding public education campaigns, launching of $1 billion Recycling Fund and implementation of new environmental policies to advocate waste reduction at source and clean recycling. To tackle the landfill overloading problem, EPD appointed qualified contractors to provide glass management service to the public last year. It could hopefully reduce 329 tones disposal glass containers in landfills per day on average.
